TOAST

TOAST

Kristofer Adelaide and Eleanor Atkinson have formed the collective TOAST, working in Collaboration with BIM Products to create the Building London Live 2009 master plan for a hypothetical island in the Thames Estuary. Eleanor Atkinson has degree in Architecture and MA in Landscape Architecture and her MA thesis project included master planning for an airport island in the Thames Estuary. She argues that it is possible to create something both beautiful and ecologically sensitive. She believes that should development happen, it should be both sustainable and appropriate to the character and nature of the site. Kristofer Adelaide has a degree and Postgraduate Part 2 in Architecture. His past work tackles social issues in architecture such as isolation, asylum, social housing and investigations into the ways that past societies have designed for the ill. The strength of his work lies in his design ethos of creating within and for Society, where the function of space is paramount.
