New Judges - Lars and Lachmi join the panel

Christensen is currently working as a Technical Program Manager in the Norwegian buildingSMART project, and is co- CEO of buildingSMART International (formerly IAI International). A graduate from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NUST), Lars has worked with engineering and ICT development & deployment for the AEC industry for more that 20 years covering software development and academic research. Lars is well known as a leading buildingSMART evangelist in Norway for the efficient usage of buildingSMART standards. His experience encompasses engineering companies, pre-cast concrete producers, industrialized homebuilders, software companies, ship classification societies and research at NUST and Stanford University. Lars founded and was Chief System Architect of Selvaag BlueThink; knowledge based Systems Company, and was part of the founding team of Selvaag Hus, a low cost housing company. He has also been Senior Vice President for Technology Surveillance and Competence in the Selvaag Gruppen and in 2007 he established Selvaag Design, a 45 person architectural and engineering practice focusing on residential projects. Lachmi Khemlani is the founder and editor of AECbytes (http://www.aecbytes.com/), an online publication that has been researching, analyzing, and reviewing technology products and services for the building industry since its establishment in 2003. She also consults extensively on the development and implementation of AEC technology, gives frequent presentations before both professional and academic audiences, and serves on juries for technology awards. Lachmi completed her Ph.D. in Architecture at UC Berkeley, specializing in intelligent building modeling. Her other credentials include a professional B.Arch. (Honors) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, and an M.Phil. in Architecture from the University of Cambridge, England. She has worked on numerous design projects as a practicing architect and taught CAD and 3D modeling for several years at UC Berkeley. In addition to writing in industry publications for several years, she has authored books on CAD and modeling. She continues to stay closely involved with the research community, recently serving on the editorial board of the journal, Automation in Construction.
